Industrial CFast cards feature advanced NAND technologies
Swissbit has introduced F-60/F-600 CFast 2.0 compatible cards delivering superior performance of up to 70,000IOPS random read/write or 525MB/s sequential read and 350MB/s sequential write. The F-60 cards are the first in the market to feature the latest Toshiba 15nm MLC-NAND technology, which enables advanced performance and extended lifecycle. The F-600 series featuring 24nm SLC-NAND is also available.
With the added advantage of Swissbit firmware, which maximises endurance and reliability, the latest cards are suited for HDD or CompactFlash replacement in industrial, automotive and NetCom applications. In addition, full product qualification and lifetime support provide added assurance of robust performance in the field and long-term availability.
Grady Lambert, Business Unit Manager, Embedded Storage Product Line, Swissbit, commented: “Our F-60 and F-600 series are the performance leaders among industrial CFast cards, and can be used as boot devices or removable media anywhere there is a need for small form factor and flawless reliability backed up by Swissbit quality, service and support."
Meeting the industry-standard CFast 36.4x42.8x3.6mm form factor, and featuring a high-speed SATA-III 6.0Gb/s interface, the F-60 series is available in 8, 16, 30, 60, 120 and 240GB capacities. The cards operate from a 3.3V supply, drawing active power of 1.3W and less than 15mW in device-sleep mode.
Multiple built-in features enhance reliability, including global wear levelling, active and passive data-care management, lifetime enhancement, and support for enterprise-grade Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology (S.M.A.R.T.). The Swissbit Life Time Monitor SBLTM tool and SDK for SMART-based status monitoring is also available. In addition, Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) support simplifies control with native command queueing using Windows, Linux or other operating systems with native AHCI.
Swissbit’s ATA security feature set, secure erase tools and optional AES256 encryption provide robust protection against unauthorised data access or tampering.
The F-60 product samples will be available soon and being followed by the F-600 series products.
