Huawei Releases Nodal IP and Gb/s IP Microwave Products
Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today unveiled the OptiX RTN 980 – the industry's first Nodal IP microwave product to integrate hybrid and pure packet microwave transmissions. Huawei also announced an upgraded version of its OptiX 900 series that provides a throughput of 1 Gb/s per frequency carrier.

The introduction of the OptiX RTN 980 and upgraded OptiX 900 demonstrates Huawei's leadership in providing end-to-end IP microwave solutions that help carriers strengthen their mobile broadband services, said Christian Chua, President of Network, Huawei.
The new OptiX RTN 900 series – which includes the OptiX RTN 910, OptiX RTN 950, and OptiX RTN 980 products – integrates advanced compression technology to increase throughput per frequency carrier from 400 Mbps to 1 Gbps. In addition, the upgraded series supports All-IP services evolution with multi protocol label switching (MPLS) technology.
