AMD G Series-based EPIC board features a solid thermal solution from AAEON
AAEON has today unveiled a new EPIC board encompassing the AMD G series T56N, T44R or T40R processors with the AMD A55E chipset. With the APU and PCH on the solder side, this inverted design is a great thermal solution for system integrators. The T40R processor offers a wide operating temperature of -20°~70°C (-4°~158°F), while the T56N and T44R processors offer an operating temperature from 0°~60°C (32°~140°F).
ThisWith ample I/O interfaces that support 16-bit DIO, the EPIC-HD07 has eight USB ports, up to six COM ports, one Mini card, one Line-in/Line-out/Mic-in and one keyboard/mouse. The PCI-104 slot adds to the robustness of the expansion bus and system reliability. With substantial OS support, it has the capability to run Windows CE, Windows XP, Windows XP Embedded, Windows 7, WES7 and Linux. The EPIC-HD07 is relatively more reliable in comparison to the thinner PCBs in the market with its 1.8 mm thick PCB.
With a flat and rectangular-shaped heat spreader, system integrators can easily integrate an additional heat sink on the top, or attach the heat spreader directly to the system chassis, making it more efficient over a larger surface area, says Joe Lin, Product Manager of AAEON’s Embedded Computing Division. Furthermore, AAEON offers customized heat spreader services for end users and developers.
The 16-bit DIO within the EPIC-HD07 can be used in various applications; for instance, security applications such as gate and receipt control can be applied in parking lots. With its capacity to support two independent or concurrent HD LCD panels through its dual LVDS ports, as well as 3D capability, the EPIC-HD07 is also suitable for POS, Gaming and Digital Signage applications.
