AAEON Releases EPC-CV1, a Cost-Effective Ultra-Slim EPIC Board Intel Atom N2600, Bottom Mounted CPU, GPU and Chipset for Efficient Heat Dispersion
AAEON today expands its line of ultra-slim EPIC form factor boards with the release of the EPC-CV1. At only 20.84mm thick (26mm with our reference heat sink), this compact SBC helps to maximize spatial efficiency in embedded systems.
The The EPC-CV1 is unique as an Intel Atom SBC in that it features an AMD HD7410M chipset for video support, including 512MB of dedicated video memory. Therefore, HDMI is supported along with VGA and 24-bit Dual Channel LVDS. The marriage of Atom processing and AMD media performance makes for a versatile SBC in a low power package.
In addition to its 8-bit digital I/O interface and two Mini PCI Express slots, the EPC-CV1 features a SIM card interface and four COM ports (RS-232 x 3, RS-232/422/485 which support 5V/12V). System integrators can access an array of peripheral devices via the six USB 2.0 ports with some conveniently placed on the rear I/O. Ample storage options are also available by utilizing its SATA 3.0Gb/s ports, which provide an economical solution to obtaining fast data transfer speeds, data integrity and bandwidth, while maximizing future expandability.
“With its VGA, HDMI and LVDS interfaces supporting Open GL and up to 1080P resolution, and the many options for I/O, this board is designed for POS, POI, POC (point of care) and digital signage systems where Full HD or dual screen displays are used,” says Chelsea Lee, Product Manager of AAEON’s Industrial PC Division.
This low power, high performance board offers a full spectrum of connectivity options including two Gigabit Ethernet ports and optional 3G network communication via the SIM card interface. Rounding out these expansive features is a range of security and durability assurance tools like the programmable system status monitoring, WOL/PXE, voltage and fan monitoring.
The EPC-CV1 supports most common operating systems such as Windows XP, Windows 7 and Linux Fedora, Ubuntu.
