DC motor driver IC realises 0.1µA in standby mode
Toshiba Electronics Europe introduce a full-bridge DC motor driver IC which achieves power supply current in standby mode of 0.1µA or less. Designed for use in industrial and consumer equipment where extending battery life or time between charging is important, typical applications for the TB67H301FTG include printers, vending machines and home appliances.
Supplied in a small 24-pin leadless WQFN package with dimensions of 4x4x0.75mm, Toshiba’s TB67H301FTG reduces the mounting area to one third that of equivalent products. This contributes to reducing the size of equipment and also reducing PCB cost.
Although significantly smaller than products offering similar functionality, the motor driver IC’s WQFN24 package offers good thermal conductivity. The full-bridge DC motor driver IC also realises the same absolute maximum ratings for voltage (40V for the motor and 6V for the control) and current value (3A) as equivalent products. The operating ranges for the power supply voltage for the motor are 4.5-38V; and for control are 3-5.5V.
Additionally, the TB67H301FTG incorporates overcurrent shutdown circuit protection, under voltage lockout circuit protection and thermal shutdown circuit protection. Other features include forward/reverse/short brake/stop function and PWM constant-current control.
