Designed for powering audio transducers, the DyadBA3 Bluetooth amplifier module has been announced by Tectonic Elements. Powered by a 3.7V lithium-ion battery (single cell or multiple cells in parallel for higher capacity), the DyadBA3 is claimed to provide class-leading battery life - potentially 400% better than comparable competitors.

Sophisticated battery management recharges the battery while simultaneously powering the system from an AC adaptor or from a USB port. In contrast to Class-D amplifiers which only achieve their rated efficiencies at full output power (amplifiers spend most of their time delivering rather less than full output power), the DyadBA3 maintains its efficiency over a much wider range of signal types and volume settings.

An integral Bluetooth sub-module with on-board antenna performs wireless communications, supporting A2DP, HFP, AVRCP 1.4, AAC and aptX. Bluetooth v3.0 technology playback enables compatibility from all Bluetooth enabled sources such as Pandora, Spotify, Rhapsody and TuneIn, as well as all cloud and local media files. The lightweight module has a wireless range of more than 10m. Customisable buttons include Play/Pause, Track Fwd/Back, Pairing, Power, Volume, EQ switching, Hands Free – and various indicator LEDs.

Caroline O’Brien, Managing Director, Tectonic Elements, commented: "With performance and compatibility enhancements over previous versions, tests have already shown that the DyadBA3 can deliver approximately 50 hours from one Li-Ion battery cell. The DyadBA3 works especially well with our BMR loudspeakers and our exciters to provide customers with a complete and single-source audio solution for personal, portable and home entertainment markets. This is any extremely cost effective, integrated solution for many needs."
