AAEON Releases AEC-6967, a Powerful Intel Core iSeries Fanless Embedded Computer for Extreme Temperatures
AAEON released today the AEC-6967 fanless embedded computer, powered by the Intel Core i7/ i5/ i3/ Celeron processor and Intel QM67 chipset, providing the best of both performance and rich I/O interface support.
The The AEC-6967 comes with two DDR3 1066/1333/1600 MHz SODIMM slots to support a maximum of 16GB memory. Two Full HD independent displays are supported, featuring display options from VGA, DVI, HDMI, and dual-channel 24-bit LVDS. Featuring two SATA 6.0Gb/s and two SATA 3.0Gb/s, supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, together with a CFast™ slot for storage, four USB2.0, two Gigabit LAN ports, two RS-232 ports on the rear and two serial ports (expandable to six) in the front with optional 2.5KV isolation. In addition, 8-bit programmable digital I/O with optional 2.5KV isolation protection, wide DC-in of 9~30V input for power supply together with voltage protection makes the AEC-6967 suitable for operations in extreme environments with unstable power supply. As for expansion, the AEC-6967 provides ample options up to two PCIe x 4 or two PCI, two Mini Card slots and one SIM card slot.
“Extreme conditions in today’s manufacturing facilities and production lines require fanless computing systems with the highest available processing power able to withstand high temperatures even when passively cooled to avoid dust accumulation,” said Barnabas Chen, Product Manager of AAEON’s Panel Appliance & Automation Division. “The rugged and fanless AEC-6967 also comes designed with expandable slots for specialized add-on cards such as for outdoor image spectral analytical instruments used in quarries around the world.”
Whenever Microsoft Windows platform is used, customers can easily create their own user interface without additional coding simply by downloading the AAEON-developed Hi-Safe program. AAEON supports all common operating systems such as Windows XP, Windows 7, Linux Fedora and Ubuntu.
Status Monitoring using Hi-Safe
The AAEON Hi-Safe is a free and powerful hardware-based program geared toward SDKs for UIs running Microsoft Windows Operating systems. It provides an easy way to develop the end user’s own UI software to monitor vital system information such as for the processor, RAM and VGA. It monitors received data from the Super I/O, fan, temperature and voltage, offers configuration options for Digital I/O pin direction and data, provides watchdog timer and fan speed settings, SMBus base address detection and device ID settings, optional monitoring of UPS data information, and offers two modes for backlight display control if one uses the LVDS interface. Being based on the user interface SDK, no coding is needed and customers can create their own customized user interface by downloading the function codes provided by AAEON.
