AAEON Unveils New EPIC Board: EPIC-QM57
AAEON launched a new, high performance EPIC Single Board Computer: EPIC-QM57. The EPIC board is sized at 115mm x 165mm which falls between the 3.5” SubCompact Board and a Mini-ITX Motherboard. This EPIC board offers the flexible expansion ability of the Mini-ITX form factor with the compact size near that of the 3.5 SubCompact Boards, thus making it attractive for Embedded System developers.
The The EPIC-QM57 is a new generation EPIC module that adopts the top-of-the-line Intel® processor: Core™ i7/i5 series. To fulfill diverse demands for versatile applications, the EPIC-QM57 equips rich I/O interfaces, such as six USB2.0 ports, four COM ports, mouse, keyboard and 8-bit programmable digital I/O. In addition, two SATA connectors and one Type 2 CompactFlash™ socket are installed onto the EPIC-QM57 to offer options for operating system and storage space that are prevalent in the Embedded markets, said Barnabas Chen, Product Manager of AAEON's Embedded Computing Division. Offering a good balance between performance and cost, the EPIC-QM57 is the ideal product for vertical Embedded markets, added Barnabas.
For video support, the EPIC-QM57 can show simultaneous displays through the CRT and the 24-bit dual-channel LVDS LCD connectors at up to 1920 x 1200 resolution. DVI can also be supported as an option instead of the LVDS and this single board computer can share video memory with system memory up to 512MB. Two channel High Definition Audio is also incorporated onto the board. These features of the EPIC-QM57 make it an excellent solution for Industrial Control Boxes, Industrial Automation, Transportation, Test & Measurement, Security and Defense & Government.
