Tyco Electronics releases copper cabling system for data centres
Tyco Electronics has announced a version of the AMP NETCONNECT MRJ21 cabling system with optimised performance in environments, such as today’s enterprise data centres, that are sensitive to electromagnetic interference (EMI).
BecaThe AMP NETCONNECT MRJ21 STP (shielded twisted pair) cabling system provides these key features, with connectors that are terminated and tested in the factory to enable customers to deploy real ‘plug and go’ solutions.
The new ‘next generation’ MRJ21 STP cabling system is based on the existing successful MRJ21 cabling system, but with improved EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) performance and better signal integrity.
‘EMC is a crucial element of a data centre’, says Julian Riley, Sales Director, UK & Ireland, for the AMP NETCONNECT Business Unit of Tyco Electronics: ‘Today, many customers ask for EMC protection as a matter of course, particularly to ensure high availability in the data-centre environment where sensitive IT systems are often installed alongside potential sources of disturbance.’
‘The new STP shielded MRJ21 cabling system design provides superb screening performance, allowing Tyco Electronics to combine market requirements and technical performance’, he added.
