Stay under the radar with black plated RF connectors

Amphenol RF has expanded its line of black-plated connectors with SMA, and N-Type configurations designed for low-loss LMR cable types.

These zinc cobalt connectors are engineered with durable materials to offer up to 48 hours of corrosive resistance to salt spray exposure. Black plating is an excellent choice for applications in high demanding areas such as precision positioning systems, radar receivers, surveillance equipment and drones used to avoid enemy detection.

These rugged N-Type and SMA connectors terminate to a variety of flexible LMR cables which are capable of superior performance at higher frequencies. LMR cables are manufactured with a flexible outer conductor with allows for the tightest bend radius of any cable of similar size and performance. They have excellent insulation for above average RF shielding and also perform reliably in outdoor applications with UV resistant coating for a longer life expectancy.

Pasternack expands series of 12G SDI cables, connectors

Pasternack, an Infinite Electronics brand and a provider of RF, microwave, and millimetre-wave products, has broadened its line of 12G SDI interconnects engineered to maximise 4K and ultra-HD video signal transmission.

Pasternack’s 12G SDI cables and connectors are designed for high durability and reliability. They feature 10µin minimum contact plating and BNC and 1.0/2.3 connector options, and provide four times the bandwidth of HD.

These 12G SDI interconnects offer multiple configurations, including PCB edge-mount and straight or right-angle options. The interconnects are designed with an operating frequency from DC to 12GHz and are backward-compatible with 2081-1.

CNT fibre cables – lightweight, flexible, and robust

bda connectivity and Conyar started cooperation on the development, production and sale of cables made of Conyar fibres made of Carbon NanoTubes (CNT).

Cables made of Carbon NanoTube fibres have several advantages over conventional cables. While they transfer information just like copper cables, due to their carbonic structure, they weigh only a small percentage of a conventional cable. Therefore, they are the perfect choice for usage in aeronautics and astronautics as well as in Formula 1 and e-mobility, where removing every gram can be crucial for the success of a project.

In the last few months, bda connectivity and Conyar, have successfully developed a process to bring the CNT yarn into a cable and thus make it available for practical use. Along with its low weight the cable construction provides enhanced resilience to fatigue. The CNT cable can be used in commercially available lengths, e.g., for fitting out aircrafts. Therefore, it can be used in high frequency technology, as a switching wire or electrical conductor.

Connectors suit harsh environment applications

Heilind Electronics has added the DuraMate AHDP & AHDM ISOBUS 91 Series to its extensive product portfolio.

This family of connectors are available in Size 24, 9 Position specifications. These environmentally sealed, connectors use a circular bayonet locking system.

This quick-connect system meets ISO 11783 standards, making it an ideal choice for harsh conditions like agricultural or off-road applications.

Available in both metal and circular plastic, the DuraMate ISOBUS 91 Series is a one-to-one alternative for any HDP20 parts.

Interference-free transmission in confined spaces

Reliable signal transmission in electromagnetically exposed industrial environments requires sophisticated and comprehensive EMC concepts.

By means of binder's 360°-shielded M5 connectors, these can now also be implemented in miniaturised applications that have particularly little installation space available – for example in robotics, sensor technology, metrology, and analytics.

binder, a supplier of industrial circular connectors, has complemented its M5 size portfolio with connectors featuring 360° shielding. The 707 series products are available in 3- and 4-pin versions, with both straight and angled cable outlets.

The connectors are equipped with screw locking and standardised according to the design specification DIN EN 61076-2-105. They are suitable for use under the influence of high-frequency electric and magnetic fields. Their 360° shielding enables shielding attenuation values of 60dB at frequencies around 1GHz.
