Shielded FPC connector optimises data transmission
Hirose has launched a shielded FPC connector (flexible printed circuit) with its patented single-action flip lock technology. The FH63S Series FPC connector features a ground pin to work with the shielded FFC for advance EMI prevention and optimum signal integrity. The 0.5mm pitch FH63S Series FPC connector supports HDMI 1.4a, USB 3.0, Embedded Display Pot 1.3, and V-by-One HS protocols.
The FH63S Series FPC connector combines easy insertion (13N) with easier activation of the single-action flip lock and a high retention force (19.5N). An insertion tab enables users to visually inspect the status of insertion, ensuring 100% insertion for rugged and reliable performance. For greater reliability in harsh environments, the FH63S Series FPC connector has a rugged two-point independent contact spring design in addition to the single-action flip lock with a clear tactile click. The single- action lock also eliminates risk of latch damage during the assembly process.
The shielded FH63S Series FPC connector is often used for cameras, laptops, gaming consoles, smart TVs, medical equipment, industrial control systems and servo amplifiers. With an operating temperature up to 125oC, the FH63S Series is also used in a wide range of automotive applications.
“The latest addition to our extensive FPC connector product offering, the shielded FH63S Series delivers superior signal performance in a rugged and reliable housing. Like many of our FPC connectors, the FH63S features a simple single-action lock which greatly improves assembly time,” said Mark Kojak, VP of Sales and Marketing for Hirose Electric USA.
The FH63S Series FPC connector is designed for automated pick-and-place assembly processes and also offers flux and solder wicking prevention.
With a height of 2.8mm, the FH63S Series is available in a 30-position version that is halogen-free and RoHS compliant.
