Range of circular connectors on display at electronica 2018
At this year's electronica, binder will showcase its circular connectors for a wide variety of applications. Sectors that benefit from binder’s connector technology include factory automation, food and beverage, medical and industrial data and communications systems.
Visitors to Booth 261 in Hall B2 will be able to discuss binder’s complete range of circular connectors including many new models designed to widen the range of applications for the company’s subminiature, miniature, power and medical connector products.
Newly added to binder’s miniature connector offering is a female panel mount connector specifically designed to be front fastened for easy installation.
Part of binder’s NCC (non-connected closed) connector system, the Series 770 protects the contacts to IP67 when not connected without the need of a protective cap.
A new addition to binder’s popular snap-in 720 Series of miniature circular connectors will also be featured. The 720 Series is made up of low-cost plastic bodied connectors designed with a snap-in locking mechanism and protected to IP67 when mated.
The new addition is a twin distributor - a single male connector into two female connectors - which will prove a welcome addition among those designers and installers who need to use miniature circular connectors in machine building and automation applications.
binder has added several products to its connector ranges designed specifically for power applications. A new RD24 UL approved Series 692/693 connector incorporates a 'Vario' cable outlet designed to accommodate cables with diameters from 7-17mm.
Before, users would have needed three different connector sizes to handle this range of cable diameters. The design features an onion ring seal which has multiple, separable seals which, when separated, fits various cable diameters.
Additions to the Series 696 HEC (Harsh Environment Connector) is a new panel-mount connector with a hinged cover for maximum protection when not mated.
The female connector protects to IP67/IPX9K and can be supplied with 4+PE, 8 (4+3+PE) and 12 silver-plated contacts and features crimp termination. The contacts are rated up to 32A at 600V.
Like all binder Series 696 HEC connectors, the new hinged cover version is manufactured from a tough UL 94V-0 rated polyamide and incorporates a three-point bayonet locking system that makes for quick and secure fastening.
Other HEC connectors to be showcased include models available in both cable and panel mount formats capable of handling up to 32A at a rated voltage of 600V.
Designed for a wide variety of applications in the critical area of medical systems, the recently introduced ELC series 570 has an intuitive locking system to ensure positive mating and mis-mating is prevented thanks to a mating position clearly defined by the 'shape' of the mating area.
The ELC series 570 connector features a PA66 plastic housing, has 12 gold plated contacts for 0.25mm² wires and is rated at 2A, 150V.
binder has designed the connector to be good for more than 5000 mating cycles which is sure to satisfy the operating requirements of most applications across the medical sector. The female panel mount connector provides protection against the ingress of liquids, water splash and accidental electrical contact and, when mated, the new easy locking connector offers protection to IP54.
Another product range on show will be a series of LED lights fitted with an M12 x 1 threaded stainless-steel end cap. The binder 976 Series features a round and compact design available in three lengths - 250mm, 358mm and 412mm.
Operating from 24V, models in the 976 Series feature power ratings of 4.8W, 7.68W or 9.12W and a colour temperature of 4000K (Kelvin) which means a 'cool' bluer light.
The new M12 LED lights have four contacts and provide protection to IP67, IP68 and IP69K.
All these and many more circular connectors will be on display and binder specialists will be available to discuss visitors’ interconnection requirements.
