PCB connectors cover wide range of applications
The connectivity product offering at RS Components has been strengthened with the addition of three new Samtec PCB connector ranges: Samtec mini edge card sockets ; 2 mm pitch PCB headers ; and 1.27 mm pitch PCB headers. RS is now offering eight products from the Samtec MEC1 Series (Mini Edge Card) range of surface-mount PCB edge card connectors, each 8.13 mm deep x 8.89 mm height with straight (vertical) configuration.
Individual models are selectively plated with up to 0.25 ?m gold-on-nickel in the contact area and tin-on-nickel on the tail. The beryllium copper contacts are on 1 mm pitch.
In the 2 mm pitch PCB header category, RS now offers nearly 100 through-hole soldered versions of Samtec's TMM Series low-profile board-to-board connectors, MTMM variable-post-height PCB headers, STMM shrouded headers to mate with IDC assemblies, TW Series board stackers, EHT Series shrouded ejector headers, and MPTC Series signal-power combo headers.
Straight and right angle configurations with 4-100 contacts in one or two rows are available (four rows for the MPTC Series).
PCB headers with 1.27 mm pitch are represented by over 150 varieties of the following Samtec product ranges: TMS Series micro board-to-board connectors; FTR, FTS and FTSH (variable-post-height) Series micro-terminal strips; SHF, TFM (high-reliability) and TFML (locking) Series shrouded terminal strips for FFSD and SFSD rugged "Tiger Eye" connectors; and EHF Series shrouded ejector headers.
From 10 to 80 contacts are available in one or two rows, with both SMT and through-hole mounted options.
Also introduced is the TOLC Series of "Fourray" quad-row high-retention surface-mount terminal strips with up to 200 contacts.
RS can supply sockets and ribbon cable assemblies to mate with the new PCB header product ranges.
These new product introductions deliver core PCB connector functionality at competitive prices for a wide range of applications, primarily in the industrial automation, data communications, broadcast and computer/peripherals markets. In doing so, they further enhance RS' ability to meet the everyday requirements of electronic design engineers.
