Tyco Electronics has introduced an RJ-45 plug-in connector for Fast and Gigabit Ethernet. Designed for a transmission rate from 100 Mbit/s (4-pin) to 1,000 Mbit/s (8-pin), it is ideal for industrial automation and therefore suitable for Ethernet systems such as SafetyNET p. The plug-in connector is designed with quick-connect technology in accordance with the common core principle, thereby enabling simple, time-saving and yet extremely reliable installation.

The common core principle means that the connector core is integrated into a range of housing types. Interfaces with IP20 to IP65/67 protection can be implemented based on this intelligent connector platform, bringing considerable user benefits and low equipment costs.
