Single core connectors cut costs for robotic arm cabling
Multi-Contact has expanded its range of RobiFix three-pole connectors for robotic arm cabling. The cost effective, primary circuit connectors for robot dresspacks are now available with three-core back ends as well as single-core versions.
The The use of single-core cables on robot arms makes it cheaper to replace a cable if damaged. A further advantage is that single cores have a tighter bending radius, providing a greater degree of movement for the robot arm.
Cabling assembly times and costs are reduced as the innovative design of the RobiFix connectors enables quick and easy connection of cables by crimping, without the use of insertion or extraction tools.
The highly reliable, low profile connectors can be flange mounted or bolted flat onto the robot arm, and are protected against polarity reversal. They are resistant to welding fumes and spatter, and offer IP67 environmental protection when mated.
The small power loss resulting from their extremely low contact resistance ensures efficient and environmentally friendly operation.
Available for 25mm2, 35mm2 and 50mm2 cables, the 2P + PE connectors have a rated current of up to 150A, making them particularly suitable for robotic welding or other high power industrial applications. Rated voltage is 690V. The connectors also provide cable strain relief, avoiding the need for cable glands.
