These Cat 6a assemblies are designed to address challenges with cable routing in confined spaces, offering right-angle up or down options. They are particularly suited for use in factories and other industrial environments, with specific applications in security and machine vision camera systems.
The new range is rated as IX industrial Type A, supporting 10-gigabit Ethernet in demanding environments that require compact and durable connectors. The cables are constructed with 26 AWG wire and are available in SF/UTP or F/UTP shielding to protect against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio-frequency interference (RFI). They are also fully compatible with Power over Ethernet (PoE).
This newly launched series includes variants for outdoor and high-flex industrial use, CMX low smoke zero halogen (LSZH), and CMR PVC economy jacket options. Each variant is available in lengths of 1 metre or 3 metres.
The outdoor and high-flex industrial assemblies are offered in three configurations: a down-angle IX A plug on one end, with options for an IX A plug, RJ-45 jack, or RJ-45 plug on the other. These are encased in a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) outer jacket, providing flexibility, durability, chemical resistance, and temperature resilience.
The LSZH cable assemblies come in six configurations: down-angle IX A plug to IX A plug, to RJ-45 jack, or to RJ-45 plug; and up-angle IX A plug to IX A plug, to RJ-45 jack, or to RJ-45 plug. The flame-retardant jacket is CMX LSZH rated, ensuring low smoke emission, zero halogens, and reduced toxicity in case of a fire.
Similarly, the economy cable assemblies are available in six configurations: down-angle IX A plug to IX A plug, to RJ-45 jack, or to RJ-45 plug; and up-angle IX A plug to IX A plug, to RJ-45 jack, or to RJ-45 plug. These are protected by a PVC outer jacket rated CMR/CMX.
“Not all cable assemblies with compact connectors are robust but these certainly are,” said Dustin Guttadauro, Product Line Manager, L-com. “You can parallel mount them to fit more connectors in a smaller space, and the entire assembly is well protected for years of industrial use.”
