The Debox range is highly regarded among electricians for its ready-to-use design, which simplifies connections, saving both time and money. However, research by Hylec has revealed that many electricians prefer using their own standard connectors, which they often carry with them.
The new Debox V retains the same time-saving installation features as the rest of the Debox range but is supplied without connectors, providing a more economical option for electricians who prefer to use their own. It offers a secure housing for pre-terminated connectors, allowing electricians to utilise their preferred lever connectors in a quick-to-install enclosure. The Debox V offers several key benefits:
- Screwless connections – avoids the hassle of misplaced screws, especially in poorly lit areas
- 100% tool-free assembly, including integrated tool-less cable restraints
- Snap-close lid with locking clip (including a spare)
- Fold-out fixing lugs
- Maintenance-free operation
- Compliance with EN 60670-22 pull test and EN 60670-1-7.41 cable retention test
- Conformance to the EN 60598-1 (13.2.2) glow wire test
- Flame retardant housing to UL 94 V-0 standards
Measuring a compact 107mm (L) x 47mm (W) x 35mm (H), the Debox V is made from white polypropylene, with a maximum current rating of 32A and a temperature range of -20°C to +85°C. It is suitable for joining flat or round profile cables, accommodating conductor sizes from 0.25mm to 4mm.
As Hylec celebrates 10 years since the launch of its innovative Debox series, Debox V joins the other popular products in the range: the original all-in-one Debox S; Debox SL, the first completely tool-free in-line junction box; Debox SL2, the smallest junction box with 5x 3-pole connectors; Debox SM40, the 4-pole in-line junction box designed to fit through a 40mm aperture, ideal for LED lighting; and Debox 11, a surface-mounted junction box for outdoor weatherproof applications. Each model is designed for specific uses, and the versatile Debox series, with its registered design, provides faster, more efficient, and cost-effective installation with its simple, tool-free operation. Millions of Debox units have been sold globally over the past decade, helping electricians save time and reduce costs without compromising on quality.
