D-Sub Push-Pull Hood from PROVERTHA Successfully Tested for Applications with high Vibration and Shock Stress
To ensure the high quality and reliability even in rough environments all related products of PROVERTHA were tested by a certified test house. Recently the QuickLock full-metal hoods for D-Sub connectors with push-pull locking passed vibration and shock tests in accordance to DIN EN 61373 with very good results.
EspeThe product portfolio includes D-Sub plastic hoods with two versions (56mm or 42mm built-in length) and the tested metalized hoods (42mm built-in length). Additional features include: secure locking with unlocking only possible by operating the two-side unlocking clips; no accidentally unlocking when pulling on cable or hood; faster assembly compared to screw and shift locking, internal and external cable clamps; easy retrofit on existing D-Sub interfaces by using the offered QuickLock conversion sets.
The random vibration and shock tests were conducted in accordance to DIN EN 61373 Category 1, Class B. All three room dimensions (transversal, longitudinal, vertical) were conducted with the strongest profile. The visual inspection on the specimens after the long-term vibration tests, function vibration tests and shock tests could not detect any cracks, chipping, deformation or other mechanical damage. Monitoring of the contacts was realized using a test circuit and a digital storage oscilloscope scanning with 200MHz. No micro interrupts were detected during the vibration and shock tests. The contact stability was stable during the complete test cycle. Interested users can request the test report at PROVERTHA.
