HellermannTyton’s EdgeClip range makes it easy to fasten and bundle cables, pipes and hoses to the edge of panels and subsequently reduce the cost of electrical installation work. It is now in stock at Conrad Business Supplies. The pre-assembled part combines the unique time-saving benefits of HellermannTyton’s Q-tie cable tie, already stocked by Conrad, with the versatility of the EdgeClip.

The two-piece fixing part is ideally suited to applications where holes cannot be drilled, or where high temperatures prevent the use of adhesives.

Both the Q-tie and the EdgeClip are manufactured from UV-stabilised polyamide 6.6, making them an ideal choice for outdoor installations. The part is available in a choice of three different EdgeClip models for easy horizontal or vertical side fixing to panels, or along their top edges.

EdgeClips are extremely easy to apply by hand and are held securely in place by an integrated double-tempered spring steel clamp. The spring steel gives the clamp both the necessary stability to achieve a high pull-off force and sufficient flexibility for a variety of applications. They are suitable for sheet edges from 1.0 to 3.0 mm wide.

The unique open head design of the Q-tie cable tie helps installers reduce assembly time by 25 per cent versus conventional cable ties, especially when working in blind or restricted situations, or when wearing gloves.

The innovative Q-tie design also incorporates a pre-locking function that enables cables to be temporarily bundled and released, for example for installationswhere all the cables cannot be installed at the same time.

“Simplifying and accelerating, and therefore reducing the cost of electrical installations, is hugely important to our customers. This exciting and innovative design from HellermannTyton is sure to be welcomed across a wide range of industry sectors,” said Jürgen Spörl, Product Manager, Category Business Supplies, Conrad.

Thomas Tyll, Head of European Product Management at HellermannTyton, said: "Time is definitely money for today's electrical contractor. We dedicate a lot of R&D effort to developing products that are both efficient to use and that save time and money. Any product that helps keep time and expense on site to a minimum, particularly when working in restricted situations, is a winner."
