TE Connectivity (TE), will partner with Amphenol FCI in the development of a new mini I/O plug that will provide EMI shielding and CAT6A signal integrity performance that meet future industrial communication standards. The two companies have already collaborated in the development of the original mini I/O series of plugs, which stand out with their space-saving compact dimension and vibration resistance for industrial environments, ease of use, and durability.

These features will be retained in the upgraded version. It will be available with straight and R/A cable outlets.

“This new co-development project signals our strong commitment to the mini I/O product line and ensuring that it is ready for future developments in communications technologies,” said Global Product Manager, Industrial Communication Eric Leijtens.

Leijtens added: “We intend to continue to expand the use of mini I/O plugs in the industrial market, with our development roadmap concentrating on higher data speeds and, further on, solutions for IP67 applications.”

At Amphenol FCI, Commercial Portfolio Director Fabrizio Stango said: “These mini I/O plugs are an important addition to the mini I/O interconnection platform for many of our customers and this new cooperative development will ensure that they continue to support future industrial requirements.”
