Cliff Electronics adds DisplayPort to its FeedThrough connector range

The new connector joins the existing Mini DisplayPort version and both may be assembled into an industry standard 24mm diameter XLR connector panel cut-out. The FeedThrough connector series from Cliff offers a wide range of connector types which may be assembled in a panel using the same XLR connector cut-out simplifying system design and assembly.

A key benefit of the Cliff FeedThrough connector range is the use of standard cables for internal connection of electronic systems as well as external connection to signal sources. Cliff can provide suitable DisplayPort cables in lengths of 1m and 2m. The new DisplayPort connector is available with a plastic or metal faceplate, may be front or rear mounted to a panel and offers plain, countersunk or M3 threaded mounting holes.

DisplayPort (DP) and Mini DisplayPort (MiniDP or mDP) connectors are a widely used DisplayPort audio-visual digital interface. DisplayPort can drive display devices with resolutions up to 2560×1600 (WQXGA) in its DisplayPort 1.1a implementation, and 4096×2160 (4K) in its DisplayPort 1.2 implementation. With an adapter, the Mini DisplayPort can drive display devices with VGA, DVI, or HDMI interfaces.
