HellermannTyton has introduced the EvoCut to its range of cable cutting tools. The EvoCut tool is designed for improved efficiency when removing cable ties. The newest tool in the Evo range, the EvoCut supports manufacturers in streamlining production lines and reducing errors.

The design of the hidden blade and easy manoeuvrability ensures greater precision. It allows the user to cut only the cable ties intended, reducing the risk of scoring the wider cable bundle when compared with a standard snip tool.

The EvoCut comes in an innovative, ergonomic design to minimise stress on hands and wrists as well as reduce the kickback that can occur with traditional tools, helping lower the risk of repetitive strain injuries. Its recessed blade brings added health and safety benefits as it significantly reduces the risk of accidental cuts during use.

John Brodie, UK Product Manager for Fastenings and Fixings at HellermannTyton, said: “The EvoCut brings huge benefits to manufacturers dealing with complex production lines, such as automotive, rail and healthcare. A single wrong cut can mean the entire cable bundle needs to be removed, damaged cables disposed of and new cables installed. Not only does this bring unwanted downtime, it can prove costly due to the value of the cables.

“We’re thrilled to be launching our new cable tie removal tool to help manufacturers achieve production line efficiency. In today’s world speed and accuracy are vital, and we’re pleased to be able to support our customers to reduce downtime and reworks as well as lower the health and safety risk of using sharp objects in the workplace.”

Designed with flexibility in mind, the EvoCut comes with an additional interchangeable nosepiece for larger cable ties and can cut strap widths up to 7.6mm.
