TIC expansion modules for the SCANFLEX II controller family in a double pack
GOEPEL electronic is expanding its Test Access Port (TAP) Interface Card (TIC) range with the introduction of two new modules: the plug-in SFX II TIC01/VX and the external add-on SFX II TIC422/S(R).
These new products will debut at electronica 2024 in Munich. Designed to operate with the SFX II CUBE, SFX II BLADE, and SCANBOOSTER II controllers, these modules maintain full compatibility with previous TIC variants.
The SFX II TIC01/VX module can be installed in any compatible controller TIC slot, offering high adaptability and flexibility for a wide range of applications. These include boundary-scan testing (BST), processor-emulation testing (PET), embedded in-system programming, and debugging.
A standout feature of the TIC01/VX is its programmable voltage range of 1.65 to 4.5V, allowing 5V signal compatibility. It also boasts programmable impedance, threshold voltage, special protection functionality, and a switch control signal, making it easily adjustable for different devices under test (DUTs).
The SFX II TIC422/S(R) module supports a wide array of serial debug protocols, including JTAG, SWD, BDM, SBW, PIC, HS/CSI, and DAP. With its reconfigurable architecture, users can easily extend protocol support for modules already in place. It is the first external TIC from GOEPEL featuring programmable input and output voltages ranging from 1.65 to 4.5V.
This module functions as the interface for controlling the Unit Under Test (UUT) test access port, ensuring the reliable management of connected buses, especially in 5V systems. The SFX II TIC422/S(R) is also fully compatible with TIC022/S(R), offering seamless integration for existing setups.
Since the protocol support is embedded in the hardware of the TIC module, switching between various UUT types incurs no delays or additional manufacturing costs, ensuring efficient and predictable production workflows.
For the SCANFLEX controller family, GOEPEL also offers the POD422/S(R), designed for use with the FlashFOX stand-alone programmer.
Both new TIC modules are supported by GOEPEL’s embedded JTAG Solutions platform, SYSTEM CASCON. This platform, equipped with VarioTAP technology, enables processors and microcontrollers to function as powerful embedded test and programming instruments without requiring design-specific firmware.
These new modules from GOEPEL electronic enhance flexibility and efficiency, providing an ideal solution for testing, programming, and debugging in a range of electronic production environments.
