Prototyping kit opens way to touch applications
The CY8CKIT-145-40XX PSoC 4000s CapSense prototyping kit from Cypress Semiconductor is now in stock at distributor Mouser Electronics. The Programmable System-on-Chip (PSoC) 4000S Prototyping Kit enables engineers to evaluate and develop touch applications with Cypress's fourth-generation, low-power CapSense capacitive-sensing solution using the PSoC 4000S device.
The kit is designed with a snap-away form-factor, allowing engineers to separate the onboard programmer and debugger from the target board and use it independently.
The kit features the PSoC 4000S device — Cypress's first PSoC 4 with an ARM Cortex-M0+ core.
The PSoC 4000S device features the fourth-generation, low-power CapSense solution with up to 32 kBytes of flash, 4 kBytes of SRAM, six programmable analogue blocks, seven programmable digital blocks, 36 general purpose inputs and outputs (GPIOs), and 16 smart IOs.
The kit features Cypress's CapSense solution, designed to work in noisy environments and in the presence of liquids.
It lets engineers quickly evaluate and develop with CapSense using the two capacitive boards, one of which includes three capacitive buttons, and the other features a five-segment capacitive slider. Both boards are capable of self- and mutual-capacitive sensing.
The kit provides easy access to all the device IOs in a breadboard-compatible format and includes an module, an LED and a push button. The kit also contains a KitProg onboard programmer and debugger, designed using PSoC 5LP, which can support industry-standard programming interfaces like CMSIS-DAP and drag-and-drop programing.
