Newly launched SBC BeagleV Fire now available from Farnell
Farnell has introduced a new product to its array of single-board computers (SBC) with the debut of BeagleV-Fire SBC from BeagleBoard.org, a forerunner in the field of open-source SBCs that strives to make the RISC-V architecture more accessible.
Powered by Microchip's PolarFire FCVG484E 5x core RISC-V System on Chip (SoC) with integrated FPGA fabric, the BeagleV-Fire enriches the BeagleBoard.org BeagleV series. This board offers robust capabilities within a compact design and diverse I/O interfaces, rendering it suitable for a range of uses, from Internet of Things (IoT) applications to robotics, artificial intelligence, and embedded systems.

The BeagleV-Fire SBC has the following features and specifications:
- RISC-V CPU: 4x 64-bit RV64GC application cores and 1x 64-bit RV64IMAC monitor/boot core with a performance score of 3.125 CoreMarks/MHz and 1.714 DMIPS/MHz
- FPGA: 23K logic elements, 68 Math blocks, and 4 SerDes lanes with a speed of 12.7Gbps
- Memory: 16GB eMMC from Kingston, 2GB LPDDR4 RAM, and a microSD card slot
- Networking: Gigabit ethernet and M.2 Key E with support for 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi modules.
- Connectivity: USB Type-C and Serial debug port
- Expansion: High-speed SYZYGY interface, 22-pin CSI connector, and BeagleBone compatible 92-pin header pins
- Open-Source Design: Adherence to open-source hardware principles allows user access and modification of the board’s design and firmware
- Linux Compatibility: Comes with Ubuntu pre-installed

From 2 November, the board will be available for purchase in the EMEA, APAC, and NA regions.
