Kontron introduces the new K3836-Q/R mITX Motherboard
Kontron, a global provider of IoT/Embedded Computer Technology (ECT), presents the K3836-Q/R mITX, a high-performance motherboard in the compact Mini-ITX format.
The K3836-Q/R mITX motherboard is the successor of the successful D3633-S mini-ITX motherboard and is equipped with the latest 12th, 13th, and 14th generation Intel Core processors and a comprehensive set of modern interfaces. It offers a future-proof solution for a wide range of applications such as industrial automation, robotics, medical diagnostics, digital signage, infotainment, and POS/POI systems.
The mini-ITX motherboard is designed and manufactured in Germany and is available in two versions: The K3836-R is based on the Intel R680E chipset and is optimised for mission-critical applications requiring ECC support and real-time capability. The K3836-Q is equipped with the equally powerful Intel Q670 chipset.
The K3836-Q/R mITX motherboard offers a wide range of connectivity options, including dual Intel LAN interfaces (1GbE and 2.5GbE) with Teaming, TSN, and iAMT support. A PCIe x16 Gen5 expansion slot, 13 USB ports (including USB Type-C), and M.2 Key-M and Key-E slots provide versatile connectivity options. The motherboard also supports up to four DisplayPort interfaces with resolutions up to 8K. Other features include eDP and LVDS support, four COM (RS242) and SATA ports, and SATA/NVME RAID support.
The K3836-Q/R is optimised for continuous operation at temperatures up to +60°C, offering reliability even in demanding environments. Support for DDR5-4800/5600 SODIMMs up to 96GB and a x16 slot with bifurcation support (2x PCIe x8 Gen5) allow for flexible use. The motherboard is available with two power options: a standard ATX multirail PSU or a single 12V power supply unit ('DC In'). This motherboard comes with a minimum seven-year lifespan and preparation for the next generation of Intel processors.
The K3836-Q/R mITX motherboard will be available in series production from the end of 2024.
