Kontron COM Express ETXexpress-SC Computer-on-Module family now offered in nine performance classes
Kontron extended its COM Express basic ETXexpress-SC Computer-On-Module product family with three entry-level modules equipped with the cost-optimized Intel Celeron dual core processor and Intel HM65 Platform Controller Hub. The new Intel Celeron processor-based SKUs are entry-level additions to Kontron's comprehensive COM Express Computer-on-Modules line, based on Intel's monolithic microarchitecture. With these new versions, the Kontron ETXexpress-SC is now available in nine different performance versions with Type 2 and Type 6 Pin-out ensuring developers get the exact performance they require.
The The feature set in brief
The Intel Celeron versions of the ETXexpress-SC Computer-on-Modules based on the Intel Mobile HM65 platform controller hub are scalable up to the Intel Celeron B810E dual core processor with up to 16 GB dual-channel DDR3 SODIMM ECC RAM. The digital display interfaces support SDVO, DisplayPort and DVI/HDMI besides VGA (2048x1536) and dual-channel LVDS (1600x1200). Connected displays are identified automatically via VESA DisplayID, making the integration of different monitors and panels an efficient task. The Type 6 SKUs are recommended for new designs where as the Type 2 SKUs support PCI and IDE interfaces for a hassle-free upgrade of existing applications. All versions feature 4x Serial ATA. Application developers looking for leading-edge SSD technology will benefit from the new SATA3 interfaces with transfer rates of up to 6 Gbit/s. A trusted platform module ensures maximum data security with hardware-based encryption in real time; a critical requirement for many medical, military and gaming applications. Support for a wide-range 8.5 VDC to 18 VDC power supply further simplifies the system design.
The available standard operating systems include Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Embedded Standard 7, Linux, VxWorks and board support packages (BSPs). All versions of the COM Express Computer-on-Modules in Type 2 and Type 6 Pin-out are available for evaluation now. Further Intel Celeron versions are planned.
