The addition of FPGA boards and FPGA mezzanine cards from TED
Acting as a Global Value Added Distribution Partner since January 1, 2016, Fujitsu Electronics Europe (FEEU) announces the extension of its line card portfolio by FPGA Boards and FPGA Mezzanine Cards (FMCs) from the Japanese company Tokyo Electron Device (TED). Typical FPGA applications include hardware simulation, support and tooling for design, testing and debugging purposes as well as complex high-performance systems featuring multiple interface options.
In particular, ASIC emulation, high-performance networking systems and 4K/8K video systems are among the applications TED is supporting under their inrevium brand name.
FEEU’s sales portfolio includes silicon foundry services, packages, substrates, lead frames and printed circuit boards. In addition, the company creates ASIC designs. Regardless if the customer is doing an ASIC design together with FEEU or executing the design himself utilising only the foundry services provided by FEEU, prototyping always is an essential task of the entire design process.
Therefore, inrevium FPGA boards are an ideal addition to FEEU’s existing line card, enabling the company to offer its customers a substantial part of the tools and materials needed for their projects. Customers thus have to deal with less interfaces and can save valuable time since their counterpart at FEEU knows the project and its requirements, resulting in an optimum solution.
“If you look at FEEU’s product portfolio from an application-oriented point of view, you will recognise an ideal overlap with inrevium’s offering”, explained Dr. Klaus-Peter Dyck, Senior Product Marketing Engineer, Fujitsu Electronics Europe. “With its standard products and ASIC design expertise, FEEU is strongly focused on the video, industrial, Internet of Things and high-speed communication segments, which exactly match the application domains addressed by TED’s inrevium FPGA boards and FMC cards.”
Based on Xilinx FPGAs, the FPGA boards are most interesting for customers with existing Xilinx expertise. On the other hand, the FMC cards (FPGA Mezzanine Cards) are targeting a wider customer base since, as the name suggests, they are based on the FMC standard defined by the FPGA industry, which makes it easier to combine cards from multiple vendors in a single application. In addition, cards can also be reused thanks to the standardised interfaces.
Apart from the FPGA boards and FMCs addressing a very large application area, FEEU can also provide highly specialised systems, including a certified UHS-II protocol tester, to its EMEA customers. The TED inrevium products will be available at FEEU for short delivery in the webshop. See our website for additional details and pricing information.
"Our goal is for FEEU to be a leading innovation partner and provide our customers with a gateway to the best solutions in the world”, says Axel Tripkewitz, President & Managing Director FEEU. “The addition of inrevium solution goes in line with FEEU’s ‘best-in-class’ approach to offer only carefully selected, leading applications for individual application areas.” FEEU’s highly specialised solutions expertise enables the company to discover synergies between the various solutions, which enable FEEU to further improve the quality of its product offerings.
