Board-to-board connectors ease space requirements
JAE’s WP86SD series of board-to-board (FPC) connectors are ideal for small devices that require higher-density components to maximize space while supporting the higher currents needed for fast charging.
This connector meets these requirements with a 0.25 mm contact pitch, 0.5 mm soldering pitch, and staggered four-row contact arrangement. The power supply is supported by power hold-downs rated for 8 A each, significantly higher than the 3 A supported by conventional board-to-board connectors.
These connectors also support MIPI, USB4, and PCle Gen4 transmission standards and feature protective metal fittings on the mating surfaces to enhance robustness.
The WP86SD series can be used in various applications, including smartphones, smart glasses, tablets and laptop PCs, gaming devices, digital cameras, AR/VR headsets, and other portable devices.
The connectors offer high robustness with full armour structure to protect mating surfaces and prevent damage to the insulator and good workability with click feeling when mated.
There is a two-point contact structure for reliable connection.
