The Electronics Excellence Awards: winners announced at embedded world

The awards ceremony took place at the Hall 3 Forum at 3.30pm (4.30pm CET) on 12th March at embedded world. The Electronics Excellence Awards are one of the most rigorous and transparent in the industry, judged by a panel of thought leaders and electronics specialists.

The seven-member judging panel reviewed high-calibre submissions, and we can now announce the product category winners for 2025:

Power

Nordic Semiconductor – nPM2100 PMIC

Nordic Semiconductor’s nPM2100 is a highly efficient power management IC designed for primary cell battery applications. It features an ultra-low-power boost regulator that extends battery life in devices such as wireless mice, remote controls, and medical wearables. With advanced power-saving modes and broad battery compatibility, it optimises energy use while supporting Nordic’s nRF series of SoCs and other host devices.

NXP – i.MX 94

NXP’s i.MX 94 is an applications processor that simplifies industrial and automotive connectivity by integrating real-time control, safety, and security features into a single SoC. It supports post-quantum cryptography, AI-based defect detection, and secure Ethernet-based communication, making it ideal for software-defined vehicles and smart industrial systems.

Dukosi’s Cell Monitoring System (DKCMS) is a contactless battery monitoring solution that enhances the safety, reliability, and scalability of high-power battery applications. It enables accurate, synchronous voltage and temperature monitoring, improving battery performance and lifecycle traceability while supporting a range of cell chemistries.

Swissbit – Security Upgrade Kit

Swissbit’s Security Upgrade Kit is a retrofit microSD card solution that enhances embedded system security with hardware-based encryption, access controls, and Secure Boot functionality. Designed to meet modern cybersecurity standards, it protects sensitive data in industrial, public sector, and critical infrastructure applications.

Silicon Motion – SM2264XT automotive SSD controller

Silicon Motion’s SM2264XT is a PCIe Gen4 automotive SSD controller optimised for high-speed data processing in ADAS, infotainment, and software-defined vehicles. It features advanced security, virtualisation capabilities, and compliance with key automotive safety and cybersecurity standards, ensuring robust and reliable storage performance.
