Thin film chip resistor now available in 0805 case size
The PATT precision automotive thin film chip resistor, from Vishay Intertechnology, is now available in the 0805 case size. Featuring high-temperature operation to +155°C with 100% power dissipation, derated linearly to 0 mW at +250°C, the company claims the device provides a nearly 85°C extension in operating temperature range over conventional chip resistors.
The AEC-Q200-qualified device offers a low absolute TCR down to ± 25 ppm/°C and laser-trimmed tolerances down to ± 0.1 %. With a load-life stability of < 0.2 % at 155 °C and full rated power dissipation for 1,000 hours, the Vishay Dale Thin Film resistor released today is optimized for the low-noise analog signal processing required to compensate for low offset and temperature drift in high-temperature environments, including under-the-hood automotive applications; high-precision oil and gas exploration; and telecommunications and industrial equipment.
Offered in 0603 and 0805 case sizes, the PATT thin film resistor provides a wide resistance range from 2.75 Ω to 301 kΩ, with non-E-series values available. The device features very low noise of < -30 dB, a low voltage coefficient of 0.1 ppm/V, power dissipation ratings from 150 mW to 200 mW, and 75 V to 100 V maximum working voltages.
The PATT thin film resistor series features a high-purity ceramic substrate, 10 μin (0.254 μm) gold terminations over nickel barrier for high-temperature HMP soldering or conductive glueing bonding, and withstands ESD to 2 kV per AEC-Q200 Class 1C. The PATT thin film resistor series is moisture resistant according to MIL-STD-202, method 106; flame-resistant according to AEC-Q200-001; sulfur-resistant per ASTM B809-95 humid vapor test; and 100 % visually inspected per MIL-PRF-55342.
The PATT thin film resistors are halogen-free and are RoHS-compliant without exemptions.
