The all-new Honda Motocompacto, drawing inspiration from the Honda Motocompo of the early '80s, offers a modern twist on e-scooters.

It combines sleek, simple styling with an innovative, foldable design, setting a new standard for affordable all-electric personal transportation. Set to launch exclusively through Honda online and at Honda and Acura automobile dealers in November, the Motocompacto is priced at an MSRP of $995.

Tailored for the urban commute, the zero-emissions Motocompacto provides an efficient and enjoyable alternative mode of transport, significantly reducing carbon footprints. It boasts a top speed of 15 mph and a range of up to 12 miles on a single charge, with a full recharge time of just 3.5 hours using a standard 110V outlet.

Jane Nakagawa, Vice President of the R&D Business Unit at American Honda Motor, stated, "Motocompacto is uniquely Honda – a fun, innovative and unexpected facet of our larger electrification strategy. Sold in conjunction with our new all-electric SUVs, Motocompacto supports our goal of carbon neutrality by helping customers with end-to-end zero-emissions transport."

Developed by Honda engineers in Ohio and California, Motocompacto, with its 32 patents, is a testament to innovative personal electric transportation. Its unique folding mechanism allows it to transform into a compact, lightweight, and stackable carrying case, ideal for transportation or storage in confined spaces.

Designed for urban and college campus environments, the Motocompacto focuses on rider comfort and convenience, featuring a comfortable seat, secure grip foot pegs, on-board storage, digital speedometer, charge gauge, and a handy carry handle. An intuitive phone app, connectable via Bluetooth, allows riders to customize settings, including lighting and ride modes.

Nick Ziraldo, Project Lead and Design Engineering Unit Leader at Honda Development and Manufacturing of America, said, "Motocompacto is easy to use and fun to ride, but was also designed with safety, durability, and security in mind." The scooter is built with a heat-treated aluminium frame and wheels, bright LED lights, side reflectors, and a steel lock loop on the kickstand for security.

The scooter’s charging process is streamlined with a compact charger that can be stored on-board. The Motocompacto’s design is ideal for personalisation with decals, stickers, skins, and more. Enhancing the ownership experience, Honda will also offer a range of Motocompacto-branded accessories, including helmets, backpacks, apparel, and more.
