By integrating in-house AI-driven methods and collaborating with Deeptech engineering specialist Monumo, hofer powertrain is positioning itself at the front of electric motor design. The partnership aims to significantly cut development time and costs while ensuring top-tier efficiency and quality.

The collaboration has already yielded impressive results, including a 10% reduction in permanent magnet content without compromising on manufacturing, efficiency, or performance. This achievement underscores the potential of combining simulation, machine learning (ML), AI, and motor design expertise to drive industry-leading innovations in the electric vehicle (EV) market.

Monumo's machine learning-friendly engine, "Anser," plays a crucial role in this initiative. It can evaluate millions of detailed design concepts in just a few days, enabling comprehensive exploration of complex design spaces. These optimised electric drives are then developed and industrialised at hofer powertrain’s facilities.

The application of advanced data-driven ML approaches enables significant improvements within tight automotive development timelines, drastically reducing the concept design phase.
