The provider of innovative software solutions for embedded software quality, Vector Software has announced that TTTech Computertechnik AG (TTTech) has selected the VectorCAST software test automation platform for use within TTTech’s development of Audi's Advanced Driver Assistance System Platform, named 'zFAS'.

Headquartered in Vienna, Austria, TTTech is a provider of robust networked safety control systems. The company’s products and services improve safety and reliability of networked computer systems and are used in various industries such as automotive, aerospace, energy production, mobile machinery, and industrial controls.

Under the guidance of Audi AG, TTTech developed the zFAS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) that integrates various functionalities of ADAS. The ECU uses numerous technology components from TTTech for various automotive assistance functions, such as piloted parking or autonomous driving.

"Audi's zFAS addresses the rapidly increasing performance demand of active and passive assistance systems," commented Marc Lang, Director of Sales & Marketing Automotive at TTTech. "It enables new functions such as piloted driving on congested highways and piloted parking." VectorCAST provides TTTech with the tools necessary to ensure ISO 26262 compliance up to ASIL D level on all microcontrollers used in zFAS.

"Adherence to software functional safety standards is increasingly important to the automotive industry," commented William McCaffrey, Chief Operating Officer of Vector Software. "VectorCAST helps software development organisations to satisfy the stringent testing requirements of the ISO 26262 standard."
