IMDT to launch new line of Edge AI solutions

IMDT, a provider of advanced vision and AI-powered products and systems, has announced a collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

This partnership will integrate Qualcomm Technologies' IoT processors into IMDT’s energy-efficient, cost-effective System-on-Modules (SOMs), Single-Board Computers (SBCs), and customised product solutions.

The new IMDT product line, powered by Qualcomm Technologies, offers enhanced functionality and high performance across diverse applications, including robotics, drones, video collaboration, and smart retail. The first offerings, now available for pre-order, are the IMDT QCS8550 SOM and SBC, featuring the Qualcomm QCS8550 processor. This processor delivers quality computing power, advanced Edge AI processing, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, and high-quality video and graphics, making it ideal for demanding AIoT applications.

Integrating Qualcomm Technologies’ advanced processors into IMDT’s products, combined with IMDT’s expertise in providing comprehensive end-to-end solutions, promises to significantly influence the AI-driven application landscape. IMDT specialises in customised solutions from the design phase through hardware and software engineering, to Edge device integration, production, and manufacturing. This holistic approach ensures top-tier performance and efficiency in delivering advanced AIoT solutions.

In addition to the current product lineup, IMDT is developing a new series based on the Qualcomm QCS6490 processor, expected to be available for pre-order in Q4 2024. This upcoming series reaffirms IMDT's dedication to technological advancement and providing cutting-edge solutions to its customers.

The IMDT QCS8550 based SOM, with dimensions of just 37 x 30 x 4mm, is a production-ready module supporting 8 x 4-lane MIPI CSI connections, enabling the attachment of up to 20 cameras. The module also offers customizable options such as onboard Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, various memory and storage capacities, and PHY configurations, allowing users to adapt the system to their specific requirements.

The IMDT QCS8550 based SOM is currently open for pre-order.
