Q5D appoints Pragmatic Semiconductor’s Scott White as Chair
Q5D Technologies has named Scott White as Chair of the Board.
Q5D is a robotics and software company that automates the manufacture of wiring harnesses, one of the last parts of the manufacturing process that is still done by hand. This strategic appointment marks a significant milestone in Q5D’s growth as the company leverages its robotic cell technology to transform manufacturing in global sectors such as automotive and aerospace.
Scott White is an accomplished serial entrepreneur focused on the commercialisation of innovative new technologies. His expertise spans telecommunications, photonics, semiconductors, and machine learning, earning him recognition as Deep Tech Entrepreneur of the Year in 2022 and a Lifetime Fellow of the Bessemer Society in 2023.
His career includes founding Pragmatic Semiconductor, where he led the development of a unique flexible semiconductor platform able to connect everyday objects to the Internet of Everything. He is also an advisor at venture fund Deeptech Labs, a mentor on Intel Ignite’s accelerator programme, and a member of the UK Government’s Semiconductor Advisory Panel.
“We are genuinely excited to be able to welcome Scott to our team,” said Stephen Bennington, CEO of Q5D Technologies. “Few people have successfully grown a UK manufacturing company from inception through to late stage. His deep understanding of venture markets and experience in scaling a deep-tech manufacturing business will be invaluable in the next stage of Q5D’s growth.”
Scott White commented: “I was drawn to Q5D by its innovative technology and massive market opportunity, addressing a major challenge in manufacturing automation. The company’s groundbreaking approach to automating the integration of electrical wiring promises to transform productivity and bring major cost savings to accelerate the net-zero transition. I look forward to working with the talented team at Q5D, contributing to the next phase of its growth and success, and driving the commercialisation of its products.”
