Pragmatic Semiconductor has announced the appointment of Shane Geary, a seasoned professional in the semiconductor industry, as its new Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Operations.

Geary succeeds Ken Williamson and assumes his new role with immediate effect. Bringing over 25 years of leadership experience in semiconductor technology, manufacturing, and operations, Geary is set to steer Pragmatic's Operations and Manufacturing divisions.

Geary's rich background includes various roles at Analog Devices Inc. (ADI), where he last served as Vice President of Manufacturing Operations and Technology. His tenure at ADI saw him manage manufacturing and operations for several of ADI's wafer fabrication plants in Ireland and the US, alongside leading process technology in key segments of the company's technology portfolio. Geary holds a master's degree in Microelectronic Engineering from University College Cork, another in Applied Statistics from Sheffield Hallam University, and is nearing the completion of an MBA at the University of Warwick.

David Moore, CEO of Pragmatic, commented on the appointment: “We are thrilled to have a leader of Shane’s calibre join the Pragmatic Team. His expertise in process technology, manufacturing and operations and his demonstrated track record of execution will be key to ensuring our continued success in scaling the business across our new 300mm wafer production lines in Durham, UK, to meet customer demand.”

Shane Geary expressed his enthusiasm, saying: “I am delighted to be joining Pragmatic at such an exciting time for the business. I look forward to working with David and the rest of the executive team at Pragmatic to help the company realise the significant opportunity ahead for its flexible integrated circuits. Having spent all my career in the semiconductor industry I am genuinely excited by the disruptive potential of Pragmatic’s innovative technology.”

Ken Williamson, the outgoing leader of Pragmatic's manufacturing and operations, will remain integral to the company in his new capacity as Senior Strategic Program Lead, Manufacturing/Operations.

Regarding Williamson's new role, David Moore stated: “I would like to thank Ken for his committed leadership over the last six years and I look forward to his continued leadership and important contributions to the company in the years ahead.”
