Jean-François Carpentier is new Insight SiP R&D Manager
Insight SiP, the developer of advanced miniature RF modules, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jean-François Carpentier as R&D Manager to lead the research and development of its next-generation RF modules.
Jean-François brings over 25 years’ experience in product research and development. He has significant expertise in RF, MEMS, Photonics, and System-in-Package technologies. Reporting to the CTO, this post will strengthen Insight SiP’s R&D team and support their growth strategy by broadening their product range.
Jean-François Carpentier joins Insight SiP from the RFC Division of ST Microelectronics, Grenoble, where he was most recently Senior Principal RF Architect, mmWave Products. Among his highlights in this role, he was instrumental in developing the company’s Antenna-in-Package (60GHz) original miniature solution, managing low-cost and low-profile specifications.
Jean-François started his private sector career with ST Microelectronics in 1997. His roles included hands-on development with advanced electronic simulation tools, managing the advanced MEMS (focused on RF FEM) and 3D integration for System on Silicon platform groups. He was promoter of innovative Design-for-Test for Silicon Photonics and responsible for the qualification of the 100Gb/s & 400Gb/s applications ST’s platforms.
He holds a PhD focused on ‘Electromagnetic simulation tools for passive components,’ and a Post Graduate Diploma and Master of Engineering in Microwaves from Lille University, France (1989–1994) where he became an Assistant Professor (1995–1997). In 2012, he received his ‘Habilitation à Diriger de Recherches’ (France’s highest academic degree) from the University of Grenoble, in the field of ‘Heterogeneous Systems’ mostly related to R&D partnerships with the CEA-LETI and French Universities.
He has authored and co-authored of 60 technical papers and 2 book chapters and has filed more than 40 patents.
Jean-François will be based at Insight SiP’s headquarters in Sophia Antipolis, France.
