TouchNetix AS, a provider of human machine interface (HMI) semiconductor chips and sensor modules, announced the appointment of Gaute Myklebust as interim CEO.

This follows Vegard Wollan's transition to the role of CEO at Nordic Semiconductor ASA. Gaute Myklebust, who currently holds the positions of CTO and Chairman of the Board at TouchNetix, will now lead the company.

In 2016, Gaute Myklebust and Vegard Wollan co-founded MyWo AS, which later merged with UK-based TouchNetix Ltd., forming TouchNetix AS. Myklebust, a seasoned professional in the semiconductor industry, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has worked for 20 years at Atmel Corporation from 1996 to 2016 and holds a PhD in Computer Architecture from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

Vegard Wollan expressed his confidence in Myklebust's capabilities: “With TouchNetix’ unique technology, IP, and strong momentum in the market, I am confident that the company will be in the best of hands under Gaute’s leadership. He has my full support in taking on the CEO position.”

Gaute Myklebust also commented on the transition, acknowledging Wollan's contributions: “Vegard has done an excellent job of building and leading TouchNetix to where we are today. We have a strong global team, and we are well positioned to continue executing on our growth plan.”

Vegard Wollan will retain a significant shareholding in TouchNetix and is backed by Nordic Semiconductor in his offer to assume a board position at TouchNetix.
