Zetex Semiconductors has won the Greater China Business Award 2008 for the North West of England region. The company was presented with the award at a banquet dinner at the City of Manchester Stadium to welcome in the Chinese New Year.
Organised by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and supported by the North West Regional Development Agency and the China-Britain Business Council, the award recognises companies that have made a significant contribution to developing business links with Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

In presenting the award to Zetex, Andrew Cahn, CEO of UKTI said, “Zetex has clearly built an extensive network in China that embodies both design and manufacture, and from solid bases in China and the UK, the company is successfully reaching what is a truly global market.”

David Benstead, Zetex Semiconductors’ HR, Quality and Systems Director commented, “We are very proud to receive this award, which really does recognise the success we have had in building our business in Greater China and how well the team there is integrated within the company as a whole. The commitment and effort of Zetex people in both China and the UK has been second to none.”

Zetex Semiconductors has had a presence in Greater China since 1989, when it first established a regional office in Hong Kong. The company entered into a joint venture manufacturing operation in Chengdu City, China in 1995 and has since opened design support centres in Shenzen, China and Taipei, Taiwan.
