XMOS simplifies Ethernet AVB Implementation

XMOS is demonstrating an open source solution for Ethernet AVB networking in the IEEE AVB Pavilion alongside Harman International, Meyer Sound and Broadcom at InfoComm 2009. The XMOS Ethernet AVB reference design creates a complete and highly integrated AVB end-point solution for consumer and professional networked AV products. Other applications on show include USB 2.0 audio interfaces, audio processing and LED tile controllers.
XMOS is demonstrating an open source solution for Ethernet AVB networking in the IEEE AVB Pavilion alongside Harman International, Meyer Sound and Broadcom at InfoComm 2009. The XMOS Ethernet AVB reference design creates a complete and highly integrated AVB end-point solution for consumer and professional networked AV products. Other applications on show include USB 2.0 audio interfaces, audio processing and LED tile controllers.

Based on the XMOS XS1 family, the reference design supports the Ethernet interface, packet processing, timing synchronisation, stream configuration and media clock recovery. The design flexibility offered by the processor architecture, that can be programmed using languages such as XC, C and C++, means developers can quickly add or modify custom product features and adapt to on-going changes in the AVB standard.
