Wolfson's power management solution selected by Leadcore

Wolfson Microelectronics plc has announced that its customisable power management solution, the WM8310, and its high quality, low power mono codec, the WM8974, have been selected by China-based telecoms company Leadcore Technology Co., Ltd for inclusion in its latest LC1708A reference platform. This platform will have two types of applications: a household DECT phone and a TD net-card.
Part of Wolfson's successful portfolio of analogue solutions, the WM8310 offers unprecedented programmability and unrivalled performance capabilities, resulting in reduced time to market, improved end user experiences and lower total cost of ownership.

The limitless configurations of the WM8310 also mean that it is ideal for use in a wide range of consumer products, enabling manufacturers to consolidate one power management solution across their whole product portfolio. Product development and migration needs are also easily accommodated, making the WM8310 a future proof choice.

By implementing the WM8310 in its reference design, Leadcore is providing its customers with a highly integrated power management solution, which can be easily modified and adapted, ensuring that it meets the needs of the end application without any changes in the hardware design.

Also featured in the LC1708A reference design is the WM8974 mono codec, which delivers low power and high quality to portable digital applications. Featuring integrated support for a microphone, as well as drivers for speakers or headphones, the WM8974 incorporates Advanced Sigma Delta Converters to deliver high quality audio at sample rates from 8 to 48ks/s.
