Renesas Electronics Europe has announced the availability of 3S’ automation software suite CoDeSys, which supports Renesas’ V850E2/MN4 series of microcontrollers (MCUs). Renesas’ V850E2/MN4 series of MCUs are specifically aimed at providing a single-chip solution for the industrial automation market. It is the highest performance flash-based MCU in the industrial market today and provides more than enough performance to run both a PLC application and full inverter control algorithm on a single chip. The V850E2/MN4 MCUs feature dual V850E2M 32-bit CPU cores, allowing users to easily split the application into the “control” and the “application” side.
Thousands of users around the world develop their industrial IEC 61131-3 controller applications with CoDeSys. The comprehensive and fully-integrated functionality, which can be used to develop both simple and highly complex applications, has enabled CoDeSys to become the number one manufacturer-independent automation software. The tool supports all aspects of professional software development as well as the special requirements of the automation industry, such as integrated fieldbus connections, visualizations, motion control and other functions.

“This high performance clearly makes the CoDeSys development system and Renesas’ V850E2/MN4 series a winning combination in the market”, said Roland Wagner, Marketing Manager for 3S-Smart Software Solutions GmbH.

“Renesas is very pleased with the support we get from 3S-Smart Software Solutions, which is a dynamic, responsive and very dependable partner. If you are designing an industrial automation system in today’s market, CoDeSys is really unbeatable”, said Robert Kalman, Marketing Manager of Renesas Electronics Europe.
