Toshiba TransferJet wireless data transfer Demos at IFA 2012
Visitors to the Toshiba Dealer Zone at IFA 2012 (Hall 21/101) will be the first to see new demonstrations designed to showcase Toshiba’s semiconductor technology for TransferJet wireless data transfer. On show for the first time at IFA will be a ‘proof of concept’ wireless SSD and two Android tablets incorporating Toshiba´s microSD and SD cards with integrated TransferJet capabilities.
IlluToshiba’s wireless SSD concept product will demonstrate how TransferJet can be used to provide a high-speed, ‘USB-style’ wireless link for bulk data transfer and streaming to/from a portable, battery-powered SSD drive and a PC. The tablet demonstration will show how microSD cards and SD cards with integrated TransferJet capabilities can be used for simple, wire-free “touch and get” transfer between any Android 3.1/4.0 or Linux-based systems including tablets, cameras and mobile phones.
All of the new demonstrations have been built around Toshiba’s TransferJet Consortium-qualified wireless IC TC35420. This chip incorporates all of the necessary signal processing and RF circuitry for a TransferJet-compliant wireless communications link.
