Success of electronicIndia 2008 makes it the leading show in South Asia

The Indian and international electronics industry turned out in very large numbers at electronicIndia 2008, held at the beginning of September in the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre. The success of electronicIndia made it South Asia’s largest trade fair for electronic components, assemblies, materials and production equipment with a total of 1010 exhibitors filling16000 sqm of exhibition space. Almost 17000 attendees including both exhibition visitors and conference delegates were present at the event.
Exhibitors from 25 countries took part in the show with Germany, UK, Taiwan, Singapore and China taking their own pavilions. Companies including Siemens, Infineon, Juki, Assembleon, Samsung, Tyco, JAM, NXP, Farnell and EPCOS were among the exhibitors.

Three high profile conferences took place alongside electronicIndia 2008. They began with a panel discussion on the opening day of the show with top management from EMS OEMs and ODMs – discussing “Business opportunities and Challenges in India” – with speakers from Jabil, Nokia, Dell, Siemens, Assembleon and NM Tronics. The other conferences were an Automotive Symposium and Electronics Tools and Design. Speakers from Siemens, OK international, Infineon presented to over 100 delegates. for each conference.

Mr. Klaus Dittrich, Managing Director, Messe München International stated: “ The show has fulfilled all the promises of being India’s leading trade show. We are happy with the performance of our MMI India subsidiary and look forward to strengthening our activities in India .”

The next electronicIndia will take place at Bangalore International Exhibition Center from 8th to 11th September 2009.
