Spirent Communications plc announced that Spirent Landslide Mobile Packet Performance Test Systems has been nominated for the prestigious GSMA Global Mobile Award in the Best Network Technology Advance category. Spirent's role in enhancing network quality, performance and driving cost reductions in LTE network deployments is the primary reason for its selection as one of the finalist in this year's award.
“Spirent has a strong history of testing multiple generations of mobile technology and now enables operators to successfully deliver on the promise of LTE.” said Jeff Schmitz, vice president of marketing at Spirent. “We are honored that GSMA has recognized our contributions and commitments to the mobile industry.”

Spirent Landslide, which also received the 2009 4GWE LTE Visionary Award and 4G 2009 Wireless Product of the Year Award for its innovation and technology leadership, is the most comprehensive end-to-end test system for mobile packet core testing. Spirent Landslide provides test coverage not only for new LTE deployments, but also validates performance of existing technologies such as WiMAX, UMTS, GPRS and CDMA2000. This diverse support enables network operators to meet the aggressive time to market commitments and proposed profitability objectives of LTE by understanding its performance in a multi-technology environment.

Used by Tier 1 LTE network infrastructure vendors working toward 2010 commercial LTE launches, Spirent Landslide enables mobile operators to meet time-to-market commitments, improve service quality and reduce operational expenses resulting in higher end-user satisfaction and increased profitability.
