Sony Vision Network adds four new members
Sony Europe’s Image Sensing Solutions Division has announced that the Sony Vision Network, a partnership programme intended to deliver proven combinations of Sony hardware and third-party software backed with expert consultancy, advice and supply chain support, has added four new members: MVD Ltd, Silicon Systems, Shafi and Compar AG. They bring distribution and support, data storage, manufacturing software and system integration expertise to the Network - key elements to add further resource for Sony machine vsion customers to support their machine vision applications.

MVD Ltd: An official Sony machine vision camera module reseller for the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.
Silicon Systems: A Compact Flash manufacturer that guarantees compatibility of its secure CF cards with Sony’s smart camera range (both XCI-SX1 and XCI-V3 models).
Shafi Inc: Provides specialist software for robotic applications that is compatible with market standards and is partnered with a robot manufaturer for ease of implementation in Sony smart cameras.
Compar AG: A system integrator from Switzerland that has ported Visionexpert, the company’s professional level generic machine vision software, to Sony’s smart camera range (both XCI-SX1 and XCI-V3 models).
The Sony Vision Network was launched in November 2005 with the aim of providing customers with the assurance of hardware and software combinations that will work together, but too also to make it easier for them to access the expertise required to complete a project. This includes not only machine vision and image processing advice, but also experience in the use of such technologies in specific industries.
Sony Vision Network current members Euresys; FDS; I2S; Jencam; MaxxVision; MVTech; NeoVision; Tordivel; Unibrain; bring systems expertise, GUI-based development tools, software libraries and hardware such as lighting systems and lenses - all of the elements needed to build a complete machine vision system. Whilst newer members Abstract Computing International and Open Wide; provide support for new opportunities in the security market with Sony’s smart camera.
