“The intelligent management of energy is the key step towards a future worth living.” This motto unites the Z-Wave Alliance and its new member Diehl Controls. The highlight among the Z-Wave-compatible Diehl devices is the Smart Home Centre. This is an open integration-platform for home control products.
It manages the processes in the building and makes it possible to control all the associated devices, even using mobile equipment such as tablet PCs, smartphones and laptops (via remote access). This also enables the occupant to have a good overview of current energy consumption in the home or building. All components can be connected to the system without the need to install a single cable.

Other Z-Wave-based devices in the Diehl Controls range include intelligent function connectors with an integrated measuring function and modern switching/dimming actuators, also with a measuring function. The switching/dimming actuators impress in particular with qualities such as their extremely small and compact construction, which allows them to be plugged into a flush-mounted box to conveniently control the lighting in a private home, for instance.

“Decentralised energy management systems have become an important part of our energy networks. Our Smart Home systems provide an integrated solution for the energy market,” explains Dieter Neugebauer, Spokesman for the Divisional Board at Diehl Controls. “The Diehl Smart Home System is an intelligent base offering great potential in terms of new business fields for our customers. Our partnership with Z-Wave therefore represents the next step towards intelligent and, above all, energy-efficient homes for everybody.”

Mark Walters, Chairman of the Z-Wave Alliance, adds: “We welcome Diehl into the Z-Wave family, their interoperable products are strong additions to the Z-Wave ecosystem of intelligent communicating products. With Diehl’s expertise and excellent market position Z-Wave continues to expand its presence in the Smart Home and Smart Grid markets world-wide.“
