Smart grids technology agreement concluded with largest Russian electricity network operator / New development for automated information exchange in telecoms, transportation and security/safety - Kontron AG is aiming to further expand its position as a globally leading provider of embedded computer systems through new developments in important key technology areas. As announced by the company's CEO, a long-term technology agreement has been signed in St. Petersburg with the Federal Grid Company of the Unified Energy System (FGC UES), the largest operator of energy supply networks in Russia
The Kontron AG also reports an important development step in a second key future technology, so-called smart services for the most varied application areas. Together with its partner of many years, Intel, the company has now developed and presented a directly deployable system for the machine-to-machine (M2M) communication area. Producers of smart services, in other words, intelligent services in markets such as telecommunications, transportation, security/safety, building automation, healthcare and many others, benefit from a largely preconfigured kit, and can thereby launch their products more rapidly on the market. Market researchers are predicting that an increasing number of electronic equipment items will communicate with one another online over the next ten years, as Gehrmann commented. We now offer a comfortable solution for rapid and secure high-bandwidth data exchange.
According to Gehrmann, Kontron AG anticipates sustained dynamics in its order volumes as a result of the commitment to these future technology markets.
