Microsemi Achieves QML Class V and Q Qualifications for RTAX-DSP FPGAs
Microsemi announce that it has achieved Qualified Manufacturers List Class V and QML Class Q qualifications for its RTAX-DSP field programmable gate arrays. Available now, customers can source Microsemi's highest quality and reliability FPGAs by referencing only the DLA standard military drawing part numbers. Its Class V devices reflect the same price points as Microsemi's EV devices.
ThisMicrosemi's QML-V FPGAs undergo 2,000 hours of life testing on each wafer lot and destructive physical analysis on each assembly lot. This removes the need for customers to perform these tests, providing scheduling and cost benefits. The company's RTAX-DSP FPGAs integrate complex DSP functions into a single device, resulting in efficient utilization when implementing arithmetic functions, such as those encountered in DSP algorithms, without sacrificing reliability or radiation tolerance. RTAX-DSP FPGAs have embedded DSP multiply-accumulate mathblocks, which are protected by design against radiation-induced single event effects in space environments. The DSP mathblocks can perform at up to 125 megahertz across military temperatures and voltages.
RTAX-DSP is built upon the same process and technology as Microsemi's RTAX-S/SL product family. The company's RTAX-S/SL/DSP FPGAs offer flexibility and low schedule risk in contrast with application-specific integrated circuits, while maintaining low power and high performance for a wide range of space applications.
Microsemi has been providing solutions for demanding space applications for more than 55 years and has an extensive portfolio of fully qualified space products. The company's standard and customized space solutions include converters, FPGAs, customizable system-on-chip solutions, MOSFETS, rectifiers, switching diodes, transistors, DC-DC converters and zener diodes.
